The 1928 Sea Breeze Cocktail

This version of a Sea Breeze is by David Moo, the owner of Quarter Bar in Brooklyn. Its a mashup of the old and new: gin, equal-parts house-made grenadine and fresh ruby-red grapefruit juice.

2 oz Gordon’s gin
1⁄4 oz Homemade grenadine*
3 oz Fresh pink grapefruit juice, to top

Directions

In a highball glass, add the gin and grenadine and stir.

Add ice and top with pink grapefruit juice.

*Homemade grenadine: Add equal-parts pomegranate juice and sugar into a saucepan on low heat and simmer until sugar dissolves. Strain into a jar and seal tightly with lid. Will keep in refrigerator for one month.
